Real-time visitor counting at Stockmann department store

Category

Retail

Today, merchants find themselves in a situation where they need to find new solutions to ensure a safe retail environment. One possibility is a real-time visitor counting system, which helps to ensure that the store always has the optimal number of customers based on the size of the retail space.

This is exactly the solution that the Stockmann department store in Tallinn started to use. The visitor counting system is based on Visit’s comprehensive customer analytics solution. Visit customer counting sensors are installed on the ceiling at the entrances of the store, which count both incoming and outgoing customers.

At the main entrance of the Stockmann Delikatess grocery store, there is a large screen from which both the store’s security staff and the customers themselves can see how many customers there are in the store in real time.
